SDG 5 – Gender Equality – Dalmellington Primary School
Dalmellington Primary School pupils, along with other local organisations from the public and third sector, were instrumental in the creation of the ‘Gender 10’ toolkit. The toolkit is designed to support primary schools across East Ayrshire to actively take steps to tackle gender inequality and challenge gender stereotypes. It provides schoolteachers and staff with recommendations and guidance on how to better incorporate a ‘whole school’ approach, enabling all children and young people to feel confident enough to be active bystanders and to promote equality for all. The ‘Gender 10’ toolkit is a great example of how we can all as individuals come together to create something that will make a real difference and effectively contribute to the UN’s endeavour to achieve goal five of the SDGs – ‘Gender Equality’.
