SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities – Glentrool Hive
The Glentrool Hive and community garden are a community-owned and operated hub and green space in the Biosphere Community of Glentrool. The Hive also owns a number of local properties that it rents to families who may struggle to be able to live in the village otherwise. The shop and holiday accommodation offered within the Hive are used to raise money for the local community, as well as providing a space for visitors and community events. The Glentrool Hive’s focus on accessibility and connecting to the community has helped break down financial barriers to community connection and provide a space for people to gather and enjoy the benefits of a vibrant community, a local example of achieving global Sustainable Development Goals.
