FundraisingPoint is a branch of CommunicationsPoint Limited, in association with Catherine’s husband, Julian C. Demetriadi, PhD FIH MHOSPA. Together, they bring decades of experience in for-profit and charity development, communications, and marketing. In late 2016, they moved to the Drill Hall in Whithorn, where their business has thrived.
Catherine Clark Demetriadi, MInstF is an American-born Brit. She has worked full-time and as a consultant development officer for over 30 years, including for Shelter (Scotland), Council for a Livable World, the American Civil Liberties Union, Greenwood Music Camp, the Royal School of Church Music, WalthamWeston Hospital, the Jewish Women’s Archive, American Friends of the Boston Stump, the YWCA Boston, the Mission to End Leprosy, the Cicely Saunders Institute, and the International Rule of Law Project — among many others. She was a newspaper columnist in Massachusetts for six years and is a regular commentator in British ‘Third Sector’ media.
As a consultant in the UK and the USA, Catherine has been the virtual development department for several small- to medium-sized non-profits: managing their appeals, carrying out donor cultivation and stewardship activities, training and supporting gift solicitation teams, and setting up databases until her clients were ready to establish their own development offices. Recent work, for a client specialising in cross-border fundraising, has focused on grants research/writing/management for charities and educational institutions seeking major gifts from the USA, UK, and Europe.
Catherine has directed capital and major gifts campaigns, coordinated gala and cultivation events and major conferences, and started non-profit groups off in their legacy fundraising.
